I Believe In Friends Becoming Family!

All my life, I have always been an only child. Some people think that being an only child is all good because you don't have to worry about siblings and you become spoiled. But in my perspective, I think that people who do have siblings are actually blessed. Even though I do get everything I want, I still miss having a older or younger sister or brother. I'm only the second child my mom had another child before me whose name was Gabrielle, but unfortunately she died when she came out of my mother's womb due to lung cancer. So for a while I was very lonely, and I felt like there was no one to talk to. It wasn't until I got older that I realized that I should talk and get to know people so that I can have and make friends. In middle school, I had started to do just that. In the end, we would start to act just like family. We would spend the night over each others houses, and hang out with each others families. Once I got to high school, some of the same people that were classified as my "family" were already there. But the hard part was trying to make new friends. It was easy in middle school, but it seemed like high school was so much different. But I got through it, even though it was hard. So now, that I'm in college it's been even HARDER to make new friends, but I met a friend of mine called Rachel and we just clicked and now we call each other "sister". So case-in-point friends can always become your family because if you and your friend develop a deep enough relationship then you will then consider that friend as a part of your family.

  1. I really enjoyed this essay. The way you explained your point of view in the essay about being an only child made a strong intro. It pulled me in. I love how your beleif that the friends you have made and make are considered your family! It's a very pure concept and I totally agree with this beleif :] You also explained that it is hard to make new friends and showed us that even though it is hard you eventually made some friends. Overall I love the essay! It's simple, honest, descriptive and overall inspired me to realize your friends are your family. :]
