While on the way to a friends house this weekend, I saw someone who looked like they had a story or two. His name was Allen and he was in pain. From the first moment he stepped onto the train it was clear he had fallen onto hard times. His clothes were ripped, dirty, and old. He had long dark hair which he hid under a snow cap. From the look of things I'd say he had not eaten a good meal in days. Allen was once a trustee of a multimillion dollar company. He had a summer house in Beverly Hills, and a college degree. All these things meant nothing when it was discovered that his company had been stealing money from employee retirement plans for years. Although Allen did not was not a part of the conspiracy, this did not make him inocent. He He lost all of his money, his title, his house, everything. Soon after everything was discovered his wife left him and his so called friends stopped talking to him. What I saw was a man how had everything taken from him. As we rode together I noticed one thing, he never asked for money. He did have a cup with some change in it but he kept it on the floor and when people came by him, he stayed quiet. The reason why Allen asks nobody for money is because he isn't a beggar. Although he now lives on the street and not a penthouse he never asks for charity. This is because he can still work and wants to prove to everyone that he's not a beaten man. He is just looking for his second chance.
