Adjectives vs Adverbs

The difference between adjectives and adverbs are, adjectives describe nouns or pronouns. An adjective may come before or after a word it is describing. Adverbs describe everything but nouns and pronouns. Adverbs act as modifiers for adjectives, verbs and other adverbs. Adverbs answer how, when and where. What is good tool to remembering adverbs is, adverbs can have -ly at the ending to answer how. For example The turtle was moving slowly. Slowly answers how slow the turtle was moving. Adjectives on the other hand do not have -ly ending. When that, these or those are followed by a noun an they become adjectives. For example This doll is on sale. This is the adjective it happens to be in the beginning and the noun is the doll. Often confusion comes along when deciding waht is an adjective what is adverb. sometimes it is easy to spot and other times very difficult. An example of using adverb incorrectly would be, She spoke quick. To make the sentence correct, she spoke quickly. An example of using an adjective incorrectly is Sally did a well on the job. This answers how making it an adverb. To use this correctly in an adjective form it be, Sally did good on the job, describes the job. Always be aware of using adjectives and adverbs.
