When Kids Get life:Is a abuse a reason for murder
This particular story was about Jacob Idn. At the age of fifthteen he murderes his mother and stepfather. His motive was abuse. His brother testified that him and Jacob had suffered from physical, emotional, and sexual abuse from the stepfather. The family seemed picture perfect, nice house great neighborhood, but Jacob encountered demons when he arrived home. It was said that Jacob was concieved to save his mother's first marriage, but it didn't work so she had resentment towards him. Jacob's older brother left the home when he turned eighteen leaving Jacob, but soon to come back to get him. Before his brother could Jacob had committed murder. Both Jacob and his brother had suffered this abuse that was kept hidden. Jacob could take it anymore that he ended two lives. I find his story sad, but yet I feel its no reason to committ murder. I think Jacob longed for help but it was ignored and he felt his only motive was murder. I sympathize because a child is defensless in the hands of an abuser. It's sad no one recoginized the signs of abuse. I think there were other ways for Jacob to cope other than committing murder. Now he has life with no parole, no hope of a future, but life in cell. Of course Jacob has alot of inner demons, but chossing something other than murder could have saved him a life of less pain.
